WFD

WFD Reverse Jet Horizontal Bag Dust Collector

The WFD is a modular reverse-jet horizontal bag (box-type) filter designed for continuous operation in heavy-duty industrial applications. Developed based on the WFS series platform, it adopts a top-inlet downward airflow design: contaminated gas enters through the upper inlet, flows down through horizontal filter bags to separate dust into the hopper, and purified air passes through the filter media into the clean air chamber.
As an optimized alternative to standard pulse jet cleaning systems, the WFD eliminates the negative impact of excessive clean air injection on production process conditions. Each single unit supports an air handling capacity of 1,500–120,000 m³/h and a filtration area of 18–112 m², with flexible modular expansion and optional explosion-proof configurations. It is widely used in foundries, shot blasting workshops, metal fabrication and other industrial scenarios requiring stable, long-term dust extraction.

Product Detail

The WFD is a range of modular reverse jet cleaned horizontal flat bag (or "cassette") filters designed for continuous operation in heavy duty applications.

Based closely upon the WFS, the WFD features a downflow design, dirty gas entering via an inlet hood at high level, passing downwards across the horizontal bags where the dust is separated from the gas. Most of the dust then drops into the hopper. The cleaned gas passes through the bags, upon the surface of which a filter cake is deposited, then into the clean gas chamber from where it is extracted at low level.

The WFD is a reverse jet cleaned alternative to the WFS reverse air filter, particularly useful where the higher quantity of cleaning air injected by the WFS could adversely affect the process gas conditions.

FAQs: WFD Reverse Jet Horizontal Bag Dust Collector

Q1: What is the WFD dust collector designed for?

The WFD is a modular reverse-jet horizontal bag (box-type) dust filter engineered specifically for continuous operation in heavy-duty industrial applications. It serves as a reliable dust removal solution, especially for production processes where excessive clean air injection would negatively affect process conditions.

Q2: How does the WFD filter separate dust from contaminated air?

Contaminated gas enters the unit through the upper inlet, flows downward through the horizontal filter bags, and dust particles are captured on the bag surface. Most collected dust falls directly into the hopper, while purified air passes through the filter media into the clean air chamber. An automatic reverse jet pulse system cleans the filter bags without interrupting operation.

Q3: What is the core difference between the WFD and WFS dust collector series?

The WFD is developed based on the WFS platform, but adopts a reverse jet cleaning mechanism as an optimized alternative. Unlike the WFS design which injects large volumes of clean air into the system, the WFD minimizes air interference with the production process, making it ideal for scenarios sensitive to excess clean air intake.

Q4: What is the air handling capacity and filtration area of the WFD series?

For a single housing unit, the air volume ranges from 1,500 to 120,000 cubic meters per hour, and the filtration area covers 18 to 112 square meters. Its modular design allows multiple units to be combined to meet larger airflow requirements.

Q5: What industries and dust types is the WFD suitable for?

It is widely applied in foundries, shot blasting workshops, metal fabrication, powder processing, woodworking and other industrial sectors. It effectively handles dry industrial dust including metal dust, foundry sand, grinding dust and general particulate matter.

Q6: Can the WFD support 24/7 non-stop production?

Yes. It is purpose-built for heavy-duty continuous operation. The online reverse jet cleaning system regenerates filter capacity without shutting down the unit, ensuring stable suction performance around the clock for high-volume production lines.

Q7: What is the service life of the filter bags?

Bag lifespan depends on dust concentration, particle abrasiveness and operating conditions. Under standard industrial working conditions with proper maintenance, filter bags typically last 12–24 months. Regular inspection and timely system maintenance can further extend service life.

Q8: Can the WFD be configured with explosion-proof features for combustible metal dust?

Yes. Explosion-proof configurations are available for combustible dust scenarios such as aluminum-magnesium alloy dust. Upgrades include explosion venting panels, flame detectors, isolation valves and anti-static filter media, compliant with ATEX and relevant dust explosion safety standards.

Q9: Is the WFD system expandable for future production upgrades?

Absolutely. Its fully modular structure allows flexible expansion by adding extra housing units. You can scale up filtration capacity to match increased production output without replacing the entire system.

Q10: What routine maintenance is required for the WFD dust collector?

Key maintenance tasks include regular inspection of filter bag wear and sealing integrity, checking reverse jet pressure and pulse valve function, timely ash discharge from the hopper to avoid dust buildup, and periodic inspection of the fan and bearing lubrication.
